This post is the topic to be discussed during Making & Meaning Conversation on October 23. Making & Meaning Conversation is a live, one-hour video conversation that meets at 10 am (Pacific Time) every second and fourth Wednesday of each month. The Earth is in crisis. Monster hurricanes batter coastlines, unprecedented floods inundate cities, coastal communities are threatened by rising sea levels, higher global temperatures are melting the northern and southern icepacks, wild fires are eating up the earth’s forests, and smoke and other pollutants are tainting the very air we breathe. As the crisis becomes more urgent, more and more contemporary artists are taking up the climate dilemma as a subject in their work. But, what can artists really do about such an immense problem like climate change? Can contemporary art make a difference? These are the questions we will address in Making & Meaning Conversation on October 23.
